Autumn Perfumes: A Guide to the Aromatic Notes to Look for
Each season of the year has its own specific aromatic notes. A perfume that makes you feel good in the summer will never be the same as your personality in the winter. Just as the fragrance you love to wear in the spring will not be suitable for the fall.
The climate changes that occur outside greatly influence the perception that each person has of themselves, the preferences and needs that concern the personal concept of well-being. And since perfume is also a necessary element for achieving a healthy psycho-physical condition, because it is to this protagonist of every outfit that many emotions, memories and more or less pleasant sensations are linked, it is important that each season is associated with olfactory notes that know how to blend with your skin.
The most loved autumn perfume notes
Imagining to describe with words the sensations you feel when you take a walk in the woods in autumn, when the first breezes at low temperatures caress your skin, when your nostrils capture that typical riot of scents that nature can only give in autumn, is certainly very difficult. But fortunately the world of perfumery has been able to give "voice" to all these autumnal smells, transforming them into aromatic notes from which warm, intense and enveloping fragrances are born.
The autumn perfumes that are inspired by foliage, woods and nature, but also by the warmth of the first lit fireplaces, have woody, balsamic, green olfactory notes, each of which brings to mind the flavor of mandarins, maple leaves, chestnuts, hazelnuts, moss and bark.
And to all this autumnal charm, Arab perfumery could not remain indifferent. Charm that is found in the olfactory notes to be preferred in this season, those that manage to pamper those who wear them during the autumn, to prepare the skin to welcome the winter notes. Those aromatic notes that have allowed the creation of some of the most loved and purchased Arabic perfumes in autumn.
These are the notes that belong to the olfactory families chypre, musky, oriental spicy, woody and autumnal floral.
Chypre Perfumes
This olfactory family owes its name to the island of Cyprus, where the goddess of beauty Venus was born. For this reason, the perfumes it evokes are typically Mediterranean and island, with notes of bergamot but also characterized by a woody base of patchouli and sandalwood, oak moss and other resins. These are generally combined with sweeter olfactory notes such as vanilla and more floral notes such as rose and jasmine.
From this mix, intense and elegant perfumes are born, slightly spicy and with a persistent fragrance, such as Musk 74 Poudré by Swiss Arabian available on our online shop.
Musky Perfumes
The musk notes have been synthetically recreated to give life to perfumes with musky and woody top notes, spicier heart notes and base notes based on oud and tonka bean. Often combined with flowers and undergrowth, the result is a rounded and pure, warm and soft perfume, as demonstrated, for example, by Ana Abiyedh Poudree by Lattafa, a unisex fragrance.
Oriental Perfumes
Much-loved spices such as ginger, coriander, pepper, cinnamon, cumin and vanilla have made the oriental spicy olfactory family the basis for creating deep, intense, often spicy fragrances, which give great personality to those who wear them. Mixed with more woody notes and incense, but also with sweet and smoky notes, these fragrances are suitable for autumn but also for winter, with oriental accords that infuse warmth and mystery, emotion and sweetness, and which can be found in the Musamam perfume by Lattafa.
Woody Perfumes
The woody olfactory family is rich in facets. It has dry notes like those of cedar wood, but also softer notes of sandalwood, moist and earthy notes typical of patchouli leaves or vetiver wood, but in any case all so intense and eternal. One of the most loved examples among our brands is Privezarah Blend Afgano by Paris Corner, because of its combination of earthy and smoky fragrances, with spicy and woody tones.
Floral Perfumes
From the olfactory family of autumnal florals a very seductive, rich and intense olfactory trail is generated, perfect for a season like autumn. Tuberose, osmanthus, violet and pomegranate flowers are very popular, which are combined with other flowers or other ingredients to intensify their effect.
Gourmand Perfumes
Gourmand perfumes, characterized by sweet, enveloping notes and often inspired by food ingredients such as vanilla, chocolate, caramel and spices, are typically associated with the autumn and winter seasons.
This is because gourmand fragrances tend to be warm and rich, ideal for colder days, when you want a fragrance that is enveloping and comforting. During the autumn and winter months, these intense and warm notes pair well with the cold weather, creating a sensation of warmth and sweetness.
Autumn is a season rich in colors, scents and flavors, so it was unthinkable not to dedicate fragrance collections specifically to a season full of sensations like this.
